Junior Warriors: Kids Martial Arts and Self-Defense

Junior Warriors: Jeet Kune Do
& Kali Escrima for Kids

Junior Warriors is not a traditional kids karate program. Designed for children ages 8–12, our program introduces young students to the movement, strategy, and practical skills of Jeet Kune Do (JKD) and Filipino Kali/Escrima in a safe, structured, and energetic training environment.
Rather than focusing on forms, tournaments, or collecting belts, Junior Warriors teaches kids how to move, think, react, and adapt. Classes combine striking, footwork, defensive movement, partner drills, coordination exercises, and age-appropriate martial arts games that keep students active while developing real skills.
Jeet Kune Do: Teaching Kids to Adapt
Jeet Kune Do is unique because it teaches students that there isn't always one predetermined answer to a problem. Young students learn fundamental punches, kicks, defensive movement, distance, timing, and footwork while developing the ability to recognize what is happening and respond appropriately.
For kids, that means JKD training isn't simply physical. It develops focus, decision-making, adaptability, confidence, and composure under pressure.
A Clear Path from Beginner to Black Belt
Junior Warriors combines the adaptability of Jeet Kune Do and the coordination of Kali/Escrima with a structured 12-level ranking system. Students progress from Level 1 through Level 12, with ranks represented by colored bands from white belt through black belt, providing the kind of clear advancement pathway families may recognize from traditional martial arts schools. Each student receives a student syllabus that they must learn and master before testing.
Each level syllabus gives students specific techniques, skills, and drills to work toward. As they advance, they build on previously learned skills while developing greater proficiency in striking, kicking, footwork, defense, Kali/Escrima, partner training, coordination, and practical martial arts application.
Rank advancement isn't simply about showing up. It gives young students opportunities to set goals, prepare, demonstrate what they've learned,
and earn their next level.

Kali & Escrima: Coordination Through Filipino Martial Arts
Filipino Kali and Escrima bring something especially distinctive to Junior Warriors. Students can work with age-appropriate training sticks and padded equipment to develop hand-eye coordination, rhythm, timing, spatial awareness, and left-right coordination.
Learning weapon-based movement also helps children understand range and movement in ways that transfer naturally into empty-hand martial arts. Instead of treating Kali as an advanced subject reserved for adults, we introduce its fundamentals in a controlled, age-appropriate way that kids find genuinely fun.
